Return to the APHA-SoCal Calendar --------------------------------------- October 28, 2006 -- APHA-SoCal Additional Information Please join us at the opening reception on October 28, 2006 at 4:30 p.m. for the Granary Books exhibition at Scripps College in Claremont, California. This Southern California Chapter APHA event is co-sponsored with the Scripps College Press. The exhibition is free and open to the public, and you do not need to make reservations for this event. We would particularly encourage prospective members of APHA, the American Printing History Association, to attend this welcoming function. You will find more information about the national organization on the website www.printinghistory.org and an application for membership. Exhibition at the Clark Humanities Museum This exhibition celebrates the work of Granary Books, publisher and catalyst
for the creation of some of the country's most innovative artists' books, and a
key entity in the fields of poetry and scholarship on the history of the book
arts. We would love for you to stay for the evening lecture and join us for dinner with Steve Clay and Emily McVarish. The dinner is $21.50 and does require reservations, but the lecture is free and does not require reservations. Frederic W. Goudy Lecture Scripps College Press is also sponsoring a workshop with Emily McVarish: Frederic W. Goudy Workshop Scripps College will host a dinner for Steve Clay and Emily McVarish at 6:00 on October 28. The Clark Humanities Museum is at the heart of the Scripps College campus. >From the 10 freeway, take the Indian Hill exit. Proceed north to 10th Street and turn right. At Columbia Avenue, turn right. Then turn left at 9th Street and park in the lot at the left end of the street. The Museum is in the Humanities Building just 100 steps north of the parking lot, on the second level of the building on the north side. If you take the 210 freeway, exit at Towne. Go south to Foothill. Turn right onto Dartmouth, left onto 10th Street, right on Columbia Avenue,. Left on 9th Street and park in the lot at the left end of the street.
